ROLL CALL

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

VISITORS
Louise Wadsworth and Patrick Roundtree from Livingston County Economical
Development (dba Alliance for Business Growth) were present and thanked the Board for providing $3750 in the Budget for the Village Program.  They distributed summaries, maps and a draft schedule.  It was noted that our 2008 Inventory will be updated by an intern from SUNY Geneseo.  A Village Board member should act as a liaison for a steering committee of 5--7 people to start early planning stages of recommendations for façade improvements, signage, etc. for the business district.  (They would meet with this steering committee at their first meeting, to explain the intent of the program.)   The sign and façade grant opens the door for a possible Main Street Grant of up to $500,000.   They left the meeting at 7:30 PM.

Gary Brink is back from Florida and noted that he had read the minutes from  the past few meetings that he had missed.  (He noted that Merilee Walker does  a great job on the minutes.)  He wondered if we had continued any further with  regulations of animals within the Village.   He wished to see our "nuisance law"  that was mentioned in the minutes.  It was noted that reference to this law was  made by Attorney Foote, and that he had not provided this law to us.

While visiting the Village Office recently he had inquired about property at  14 Creek Road, as there is an accumulation of junk cars and debris.  The owners  have been sent a notice via certified mail, and have not accepted it.  Mr. NiCastro
will be sending them to Court.

Mr. Brink also felt that his neighbor at 13 Center Street was still in violation of  the Revitalization Law, in that there was a large hole in the driveway, that filled  with rainwater, causing pedestrians to walk in the street to avoid the water. If this  problem is located between the sidewalk and street, it may be the Village's  responsibility to fill, as it is in the right of way.  This will be researched.

CODES Mr. Rusby provided his monthly report and left the meeting at 7:44 PM.

POLICE Sgt. Rapp reported that the department has been busy.  He noted that there are  new problems which do require attention such as "sexting".  This has been an  increasing problem.  They have had increasing DWI arrests as well.  In further  business, Melissa Coveny and Courtney Kilmer have submitted their resignations.  Ms. Kilmer is expecting is expecting a baby, and Ms. Coveny's mother, being  terminally ill, has prevented Melissa from completing her training.  Jeremy Blair, who worked for the department in the past, left to accept a position  at the Fairport Police Department where they would not allow outside police employment.  Now he is working for the Livingston County Sheriff's Department  and would like to come back here part time.  The Chief recommended hiring him  again at $15.50 per hour due to the fact that he has experience.
